Most installations recognize the new User Account Control (UAC) security model in Windows Vista. However, in order for this to work properly, the program must be identified by Windows Vista as an program that requires administrative rights.

Set OTrader to always run as administrator
This will ensure OTrader always runs as an administrator. To do this, use the following steps:

1. With Windows explorer navigate to C:\Program Files\OTrader Software\Portfolio Management
2. Locate the file called OTrader.exe
3. Right-click the OTrader.exe file and click Properties.
4. On the Property sheet, click the Compatibility tab.
5. Under Privilege Level, select the Run this program as an administrator check box, and then click OK.

 

When opening OTrader I receive :Error Description : Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

This is caused by a file not being correctly registered in the Windows Vista registry. To fix the problem follow the steps below:

1. Press Start and in the Vista Search Box type run
2. At the top of the list you will see a program called Run. Click the Run program with your mouse.
3. In the newly opened Run box type:
   regsvr32 /u c:\windows\system32\comdlg32.ocx
4. Select OK.
5. You will see a message box saying DllUnregisterServer in C:\windows\system32\comdlg32.ocx succeeded Select OK.
6. Press Start and in the Vista Search Box type run
7. At the top of the list you will see a program called Run. Click the Run program with your mouse.
8. In the newly opened Run box type:
   regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\comdlg32.ocx
9. Select OK.
10. You will see a message box saying DllRegisterServer in C:\windows\system32\comdlg32.ocx succeeded Select OK.
11. Run OTrader as before

4. Select OK.
5. You will see a message box saying DllUnregisterServer in C:\windows\system32\mscomct2.ocx succeeded Select OK.
6. Press Start and in the Vista Search Box type run
7. At the top of the list you will see a program called Run. Click the Run program with your mouse.
8. In the newly opened Run box type:
   regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mscomct2.ocx
9. Select OK.
10. You will see a message box saying DllRegisterServer in C:\windows\system32\mscomct2.ocx succeeded Select OK.
11. Run OTrader as before

When I try to open ‘Multiple Leg Trade’ or when trying to view 'Performance Graphs' I get the message Error in : Form  FRMMENU  MENUBAR_BUTTONCLICK  Run-Time Error

This is caused by a file not being correctly registered in the Windows Vista registry. To fix the problem follow the steps below:

1. Press Start and in the Vista Search Box type run
2. At the top of the list you will see a program called Run. Click the Run program with your mouse.
3. In the newly opened Run box type:
   regsvr32 /u c:\windows\system32\mschrt20.ocx
4. Select OK.
5. You will see a message box saying DllUnregisterServer in C:\windows\system32\mschrt20.ocx succeeded Select OK.
6. Press Start and in the Vista Search Box type run
7. At the top of the list you will see a program called Run. Click the Run program with your mouse.
8. In the newly opened Run box type:
   regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mschrt20.ocx
9. Select OK.
10. You will see a message box saying DllRegisterServer in C:\windows\system32\mschrt20.ocx succeeded Select OK.
11. Run OTrader as before
